MTC, Chennai erstwhile known as Pallavan Transport Corporation (PTC), Was formed by the Government of Tamil Nadu on 01.01.1972 with a fleet strength of 1029 buses, the departmental setup was transformed into a company setup to inoculate a commercial approach without sacrificing the social responsibilities.

Later the name was changed to Metropolitan Transport Corporation (Chennai) Ltd. By merging MTC I & II with effect from 10-01-2001.

As 2021 going to be the 50^th year for MTC Chennai (PTC), Our Team TNSTC Enthusiasts has decided to celebrate whole Year 2021 as MTC Year. Thus, as an initiation we started with a Bus Themed cake cutting at Marina Beach, Chennai and followed by distributing them to MTC crews and shared joy and love of us towards buses.

Lot many events, celebrations were planned this year with theme MTC, Chennai. A new logo emphasizing 50^th year of MTC was also introduced.

As forerun to Golden Jubilee Year of MTC, SETC & TNSTC in 2022, many series of events to be planned in this year, the celebrations was kick started on 01 January 2021 by cutting a beautiful cake and distributed to MTC crews @ Marina Beach, Chennai

கடந்த 1972ஆம் ஆண்டு ஜனவரி 01ஆம் தேதி நிர்வாக வசதிக்காக தமிழ்நாடு அரசு போக்குவரத்து துறையில் இருந்து பல்லவன் போக்குவரத்துக் கழகம் உருவாக்கப்பட்டது.

 

இன்று (01-01-2021) சென்னை மாநகர் போக்குவரத்துக் கழகம் (பல்லவன்) தனது 50ஆவது ஆண்டில் அடியெடுத்து வைக்கிறது. 

 

ஆகவே அதன் சிறப்பை உணர்த்தும் வகையில் நமது அரசுப் போக்குவரத்து ஆர்வலர்கள் குழு 2021ஆம் ஆண்டு முழுவதும் சென்னை மாநகர் போக்குவரத்துக் கழகத்தை கொண்டாட முடிவு செய்துள்ளோம்.

 

அதன் தொடக்கமாக மாநகர் பேருந்து படங்கள் பொறிக்கப்பட்ட அணிச்சல் (Cake) சென்னை மெரினா கடற்கரையில் நமது குழு நிர்வாகிகள் முன்னிலையில் வெட்டப்பட்டது. பின்னர் பல்வேறு சென்னை மாநகரப் பேருந்து ஓட்டுனர் மற்றும் நடத்துனர்களுக்கு வழங்கப்பட்டது.
